Delawie: We are strengthening Kosovo on the war against corruption (Lajmi.net)

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, and the Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo Greg Delawie, signed today amendment of the bilateral agreement on the Development Objective Agreement Grant (DOAG) .

The agreement includes determination of the U.S. government to help Kosovo institutions attain reforms which would push Kosovo’s development forward.

Ambassador Delawie said that he is pleased to be giving €26 million and according to him, the U.S. and Kosovo are marking progress in their relations. “We are strengthening Kosovo on the war against corruption,” he said.

He also stressed that since the end of the war, the USAID has invested €800 million in Kosovo.

President Thaçi said that USAID support is comprehensive in all institutional and social spheres.

“This is another proof of the U.S. partnership with Kosovo in all spheres and especially on fighting crime, corruption and on good governing. I am very grateful to the U.S. administration for the support to Kosovo,” Thaçi said.

The USAID Senior Administrator from the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Margot Ellis and the Director of USAID mission in Kosovo, James Hope.
