Tahiri: Reciprocity measures towards Serbia's arrest warrants (RFE)
Kosovo's Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said Kosovo authorities should introduce reciprocity measures towards Serbia's arrest warrants against Kosovo citizens. “We need to implement reciprocity measures. At the end of the day, it was Serbia that committed genocide and the most heinous crimes against humanity here,” Tahiri said following the French authorities’ detention of AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj on an arrest warrant issued by Serbia through Interpol. Tahiri admitted that the dialogue on normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia has suffered a setback in the last weeks. “Serbia has intensified its destructive actions which are hampering the dialogue,” Tahiri pointed out. “We are dealing with a period which is truly worrying for us as well as for the European Union.” She said the Kosovo side insisted on discussing the issue of Serbia’s arrest warrants in the framework of the EU-facilitated dialogue since 2011 but that “an item cannot be included in the dialogue if there is no consent from both sides.”
