Bishop Teodosije: Serbs cannot be divided into “Northerners” and “Southerners” (Radio kontakt plus)

Serbian Orthodox Church Raska-Prizren Eparchy Bishop Teodosije has served yesterday evening “Moleban for Kosovo and Metohija” (prayer of supplication) in the church of St. Dimitrije in Mitrovica North, Radio kontakt plus reported. After the “Moleban” Bishop Teodosije told gathered believers that today’s prayer is for the salvation of Serbian people and recalled that the Church, together with its people, had suffered many times in history, but that “we rose again by ourselves, renewing ourselves, our sanctuaries and houses, remaining always faithful to the heritage of the Holy Nemanjici, which we must treasure above all”. Bishop Teodosije highlighted that “today we are going through difficult and uncertain days,” but he is “sure that our people are brave and that this time as well they will not falter or become divided”. “We will never forget the courage of Mitrovica residents and of all Serbs from northern Kosovo, who in the most difficult days of 1999 held a courageous stand, defending their homes. Back then, you participated with all of us who remained in our properties, giving us help and support,” Bishop Teodosije said, while pointing out that even the north of Kosovo would not be what it was, if it wasn’t for the “organic” connection with the other Serbian communities south of Ibar River. “As long as the bells ring in the Pec Patriarchy, in Decane, Gracanica, Leviska ... as long as our theologians sing in Prizren’s seminary and our priests serve in all churches, you are stronger and more stable,” he added. Bishop Teodsije also commented on the recent speculations on the partition of Kosovo. “It is with pain to hear from some that Serbs are allegedly being divided into “Northerners” and “Southerners”. We cannot be divided, same as one holy Kosovo and Metohija cannot be divided. Nobody can separate KiM from our country, because our national and spiritual foundations are precisely here (…),” Bishop Teodosije said, Radio kontakt plus reported.
