Hahn: Correction of the boundaries as a possible "final part of the puzzle" (RTS, MIA)
EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn says that within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, "territorial exchange" or "border correction" is not excluded as "the final part of the puzzle", reports Radio television of Serbia, quoting the FYROM's news agency MIA.
In an interview with correspondent of MIA agency in Brussels, Johannes Hahn emphasized that "any solution must contribute to the stability and prosperity of the region and that both sides are aware of the international obligations and concerns of the international community."
It is reported that Hahn "believes that it is possible to settle the dispute by mid-2019."
On the eve of his visit to FYROM, scheduled for Monday, Hahn points to Skoplje what could happen in the event of "missing the opportunity to accept an agreement with Greece in a referendum on September 30th".
"If the opportunity is now missed, I am pretty sure that the door will be closed for decades, if not forever. It should be cautious in politics, but in the near future it will remain closed and it will harm the citizens of this country (FYROM)," Hahn said, reports RTS.
When asked about ''weak'' messages of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on enlargement in his annual address, Hahn says that he is not at all disappointed, on the contrary, reports MIA. Hahn says that Juncker have sent main messages last year, prompting a new strategy for enlargement. Hahn points that the processes started and ''there is no need for talk, but for act''.
