Blic: "Vucic is close to the decision on the elections"

Belgrade based daily Blic reports today that Serbia could have an early parliamentary election in the spring. Blic learns that the president of Serbia and the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vucic, has talked with his associates and is getting closer to making such a decision.

Hahn: Correction of the boundaries as a possible "final part of the puzzle" (RTS, MIA)

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn says that within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, "territorial exchange" or "border correction" is not excluded as "the final part of the puzzle", reports Radio television of Serbia, quoting the FYROM's news agency MIA.

Drecun: Elections if people say no in Kosovo issue popular vote (N1)

The head of Serbia’s Parliament Kosovo Committee said that a final stage of Belgrade – Pristina dialogue was approaching and that the diplomatic activities should increase, adding that Serbia would not allow Kosovo to become a UN member.

Milovan Drecun, of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), added that the final status discussion demanded a new format of negotiations.

The proposal of the Statute of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) should be presented on the 4th of August in Brussels. That deadline was given to Pristina when the Serbs, five years after the signing of the Brussels Agreement, announced that they would form the Community themselves, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

Vucic: Whatever we do about Kosovo, referendum will follow (Serbian media)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said there are no proposals for a permanent solution for Kosovo, and that he will inform the public as soon as he has anything new.

''Whatever we do, we have to go to a referendum. Regardless of constitutional changes we make - those need to go for a referendum,'' Vucic told reporters during a visit to the factory in Zemun.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that people would declare themselves on the future of Kosovo, so one could ask what the stance of Serbian citizens in relation to Kosovo is, TV Prva reports on Sunday. The TV Prva crew conducted a “mini referendum” on Belgrade streets, offering three possibilities to respondents – recognition of independence, frozen conflict and division, and presented some of the citizens’ responses.
