Vucic: Whatever we do about Kosovo, referendum will follow (Serbian media)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said there are no proposals for a permanent solution for Kosovo, and that he will inform the public as soon as he has anything new.
''Whatever we do, we have to go to a referendum. Regardless of constitutional changes we make - those need to go for a referendum,'' Vucic told reporters during a visit to the factory in Zemun.
''Every day, we fight to preserve what we have and to get something more on Kosovo. All those criticising me on the daily basis know how right I am,'' he said and called on his political opponents not to lie themselves and him, and not to lie the people about the possible solution to the Kosovo issue.
However, he rejected the idea of holding a referendum for anything less than what Serbia has today, adding that at this moment he does not know what he would be suggesting as a solution for Kosovo to the people.
''The Kosovo solution will be difficult to achieve in any case. It's better to achieve an agreement (with Pristina) than not to achieve it,'' Vucic stressed.
He pointed out that Albanians will not propose their Draft Statute for the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) at the Brussels meeting on August 4, but that he will continue to fight for Serb interests.
