Kocijancic: An asterix next to Kosovo in all EU documents (RTS, Tanjug)
EU Spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic says that the policy of Brussels has not changed and that the asterix, which denotes status neutrality is used in all official documents referring to Kosovo.
"Our policy on this matter has not changed," Kocijancic told Belgrade-based news agency Tanjug.
On the occasion of some Serbian media reports that EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini made a "gaffe" and "recognized Kosovo" without always using the "star" along with the name of Kosovo on the website of the European Foreign Policy Service, Kocijancic claims that the sign is used in all official documents of the EEAS
"Our policy has not changed here. We use asterix in all official documents and this is clearly indicated on the site," Kocijancic said.
Kocijancic, however, did not answer why the asterix was not used for other materials, such as EU official statements or media reports.
Diplomatic sources in Brussels say that it is not a novelty the policy of the European foreign policy service to mark Kosovo with an "asterix" only in official EU documents.
It is said that the diplomatic representatives of Serbia have repeatedly drawn attention to EU officials in recent years, but that "the EEAS policy has remained unchanged", reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
