Defensive Pristina, Serbia in campaign (Tanjug, Prva TV)
Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivica Dacic said that Pristina is currently in a defensive phase, by visiting the countries that have recognized Kosovo, to prevent them revoking recognitions, Serbian media reported.
On the other hand, Serbia continues lobbying that some countries revoke recognitions of Kosovo, and Dacic remains certain there would be more revoking by the end of this year, therefore he expects the number of recognitions to drop below 100.
“This is important because of position in negotiations, since Pristina is telling “why do we need to negotiate with you, when we are recognized by 116 states. They nailed this list, hanged it on the door, and it is a big lie, because some countries revoked recognitions,” Dacic underlined.
He also assessed Pristina does not truly realize the situation in which they are now. “They do not realize that majority of the most important international stakeholders are very interested to reach certain agreement that would be based on compromise. They are just making their position more difficult because there are disagreements among Pristina’s elite,” Dacic added.
Commenting on the Association/Community of Serbian-majority Municipalities, Dacic noted it is just an indicator Pristina has no intention to implement what was agreed in Brussels, Serbian media said.
