Protests of Serbs and blockades due to Pristina's moves (RTS)
In several Serb communities in Kosovo, one-hour protests against "police and political terror in Pristina" were held. Serbian List Vice President Igor Simic said that the Serbs sent a message that they wanted to live peacefully and dignifiedly.
Protests were held in Rudare, at the cross in the municipality of Zvecan, at the Jarinje crossing in the municipality of Leposavic, at the Brnjak crossing and in the place Zupce in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
The RTS reported that the citizens of Rudare protested peacefully demanding the abolition of Pristina tax on goods from central Serbia.
Along with the flag of Serbia, the crowd also carried slogans on which they urged the international community to react.
Some of them said: "EU open your eyes", "Don't starve our children", "We have the right to bread", "We do not have medicines" ...
The president of the Serbian List Goran Rakic in Rudare told the gathered citizens not to fall into provocation because Pristina wants it, reported RTS.
"We hear Pristina representatives who say that the arrest was in accordance with the law. What are these laws? Brutal force, shock bombs when people sleep?" said Rakic, and once again called for peace.
He added that members of the ROSU tried to arrest the representative of the Serbian List Milan Radoicic under the pretext of seeking the suspects of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic.
He warned that if Pristina does not withdraw measures on the introduction of the tax on Serbian goods, Serbs will "be forced to continue with protests" because, as he said, Monday and Tuesday will be less food.
Stating that some businessmen were ready to pay the tax, but that Pristina did not allow it, Simic said that this shows that it is not a matter of paying, but that Pristina wants to create conditions in which the Serbs themselves will start leaving the north of Kosovo.
Rakic read out the conclusions of today's Crisis Staff of four municipalities to citizens.
The president of the Provisional Authority of Zvecan municipality, Ivan Todosijevic, said that citizens gathered in Rudare around the cross, which, as he says, is a symbol of resistance and the survival of Serbs in Kosovo.
Citizens of Lesak and Leposavic protested at the administrative crossing of Jarinje. Passage to vehicles was suspended for an hour.
Zubin Potok Mayor Stevan Vulovic said that a large number of citizens gathered in Zupce to show Pristina authorities that they were ready to talk with them in a civilized way.
The citizens blocked and the Brnjak crossing.
