Protest in north: Authorities in Kosovo attempt to provoke conflicts (Radio kontakt plus)
Citizens taking part in today’s protest in Mitrovica North repeated request to lift taxes Pristina imposed on the goods from central Serbia, Radio kontakt plus reports.
Goran Rakic, Chair of Srpska Lista and chief of the Crisis Headquarters urged again EU and international community to use all available mechanisms and instruments to make Pristina abolish its anti-civilization measures.
He warned that the Serbian people are on the verge of humanitarian disaster, since the food and medicaments’ supplies are decreasing.
Outgoing Kosovo Minister Ivan Todosijevic urged Pristina authorities to stop provocations and lift the taxes, and at the same time appealed to the international community to bring Pristina back to common sense.
He objected formation of the Kosovo army, saying its aim is to occupy the northern part of Mitrovica and commit ethnic cleansing. Todosijevic also added Serbs would remain calm and dignified during protests against Pristina’s measures.
In addition to Rakic and Todosijevic, representatives of Zubin Potok and Leposavic municipalities, students’ and Pristina University spoke at today’s gathering.
Participants in the protest also carried a huge banner, with an inscription that Marko Rosic, recently arrested in Mitrovica North by Kosovo police is not guilty, Radio kontakt plus reports.
