Serbian Chamber of Commerce wrote to EU over Pristina’s taxes (BETA, KoSSev)
Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced it has sent a letter to the highest officials of European Union, European Commission, European Parliament and European Council, calling on them to influence Pristina authorities and help in revoking decision on introduction of 100 percent taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, BETA news agency reports.
This decision, systematically breaches CEFTA agreement, jeopardizes economic integration of the region and the success of the Berlin Process, and if the decision remains in force companies from Serbia with capital from EU member states would lose annually 200 million euros.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Marko Cadez pointed out that negative economic repercussions would not only affect Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also Kosovo economy since two thirds of purchases from Serbia relate to production material, whose deliveries were ceased following the taxes.
Cadez added this decision creates insecure investment environment and there is a danger that part of the trade would move to the so-called grey market zone, BETA news agency reported.
