Yuri Ushakov: Vladimir Putin will set out Moscow's position on Kosovo tomorrow (NSPM, Tanjug, TASS, Vecernje Novosti, RTS)
Russian President Vladimir Putin will announce the position of Moscow on Kosovo in the course of the talks in Belgrade, reports the NSPM portal.
"This position is clear, consistent and based on international and legal frameworks, including those contained in UN Security Council Resolution 1244," said Yuriy Ushakov, Aide to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
As he said, Russia will support a satisfactory mutually acceptable solution that Belgrade and Pristina come to, but Russia believes that any solution must be in line with international law and confirmed by the UN Security Council.
"That (solution) really needs to be implemented," Ushakov said, Russian agency TASS reported.
At a press conference in Moscow, he pointed out that the situation in Kosovo was already difficult, more recently even more complicated due to the introduction of tariffs and a decision to transform the KSF into the army.
Ushakov called these moves of Kosovo Albanians provocative.
"These are the 100 percent taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the December decision of the so-called Kosovo Parliament to adopt a law on the transformation of security forces into the army. This represents a gross violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244," Putin's assistant said.
