EU on Trepca, tariffs, dialogue (Tanjug, B92)
European Commission Spokesperson Maja Kocijancic told Tanjug news agency the issue of Trepca status should be resolved through legally binding agreement on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
She added, “that all open issues between the two sides should be resolved through finalization of the dialogue.”
“EU as a mediator in dialogue aims to resolve all open issues between the two sides once and for all, through a legally binding agreement on comprehensive normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina,” Kocijancic said, responding to Tanjug’s inquiry what consequences adoption of Trepca statute could have on the fate of dialogue.
She also repeated the EU expects abolishment of Pristina’s tariffs and soon continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic earlier stated the dialogue with Pristina could continue only after Pristina tariffs on the goods from Serbia are revoked, but also when provocations such as adoption of the Trepca statue end.
