Jeremic: Delineation is fig leaf for recognition of Kosovo (BETA)
Leader of Peoples’ Party and Chair of Alliance for Serbia (SZS) Vuk Jeremic assessed yesterday that delineation, which, according to the Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic represents an official Belgrade’s position in negotiations with Pristina, is “a fig leaf” for Kosovo recognition, BETA news agency reported.
Jeremic also underlined “how something that National Assembly is not informed about, let even decided about it, can become a state policy?”
In a written statement, Jeremic further said that proposal on delineation “violates the Constitution of Serbia and an oath Aleksandar Vucic took while taking over the function of the President of Serbia.”
“We have been warning for months that something like this is happening, and that the “delineation” is a fig leaf for recognition of Kosovo, that would further cause problems in the south of central Serbia, and by which we would permanently renounce our rights and interests in Kosovo and Metohija,” Jeremic said.
He asked the current regime how “’delineation’ respectively recognition of the so-called Kosovo state can be a state policy.”
Jeremic also said the opposition block is advocating for a solution to the Kosovo issue in line with the Constitution of Serbia and UN SC Resolution 1244, but also to resolve all property issues and the issues related to the human rights of Serbs in Kosovo prior to resolving the status issue.
