Patriarch Irinej in Prizren: Serbian people would never be able to accept division (KoSSev)
Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej who is paying a visit to Kosovo and Metohija said in Prizren on Sunday that “what we hear today about some sort of division, a compromise, is something that Serbian people would never be able to accept, in particular people from Kosovo and Metohija,” KoSSev portal reported.
The Patriarch Irinej added “what would be the worst, the most detrimental is for us to renounce Kosovo, to give it away to somebody. A wise man would never give anyone as a gift his own home, or a house and Kosovo is a house of the Serbian people.”
Patriarch Irinej arrived in Kosovo late on Friday and visited the Peć Patriarchate, Visoki Dečani Monastery, Velika Hoča village and Orahovac, Saint Archangels Monastery and Church of the Holly Mother in Prizren, after which he headed to Zočište Monastery. Patriarch Irinej also walked in Prizren town, where he served as a professor in Seminary there for 12 years, KoSSev portal reported.
