Elections in Kosovo north: Ballot order to be decided on Tuesday (Vecernje Novosti)
Ballot order of candidates for mayors of four municipalities in the north of Kosovo will be determined on Tuesday, followed by the creation of a voter’s list and campaign that will last from May 13 to 17.
Stevan Veselinovic, a Serbian member of the Central Election Commission, confirmed to Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti and pointed out that for the elections scheduled for May 19, candidates of the Serbian list, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Vetevendosje have been confirmed. He also recalled that the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel refused to accept the request of Vetevendosje members of CEC that it should not accept the candidacy of Serbian List.
The daily reports that the representatives of the Serbs from Kosovo stress that the intention of Vetevendosje CEC members was to discredit the Serbian List, which is the only Serbian party, and disqualify it from these elections, so that with the minimal number of votes, Albanian candidates would take over the governance in the majority Serb municipalities.
“Serbian List is the only Serbian party which has nominated its candidates for the mayors of municipalities: Goran Rakic in North Mitrovica, Zoran Todic in Leposavic, Vucina Jankovic in Zvecan and Srdjan Vulovic in Zubin Potok,” Veselinovic told Vecernje Novosti.
