Pellegrini: I have expected stronger EU reaction to ROSU intrusion (Tanjug, B92)

Slovakia Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, who is paying an official visit to Serbia said he expected stronger EU and its member-states reaction to the Kosovo special police unit intrusion to the north of Kosovo, B92 reports. He also noted, Slovakia as an EU member is very concerned because Pristina does not fulfill its obligations deriving from the Brussels agreement, but also because of the lack of a strong reaction to the provocations by Albanian side and the latest ROSU action in the north. “Reaction was not at the appropriate level. The EU should have reacted much stronger and we expected stronger reaction to what had happened two days ago in the north of Kosovo,” Pellegrini told journalists following the meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
He also stressed that official Bratislava understands the frustration of Serbia stemming from the introduction of taxes, but also incidents, saying that the Pristina side must be required to fulfill the obligations arising from the agreements reached. He stressed that the fee Pristina imposed on Serbian goods is contrary to CEFTA agreement and that it is a reason for mistrust, adding that Slovakia does not intend to change its position regarding the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.Pellegrini confirmed that Slovakia will remain a permanent advocate for EU enlargement, and that Serbia will become a member of the country one day, with the remark that it will do everything to help the official Belgrade on this difficult road.
