Mogherini and Pompeo about the Western Balkans (RFE, RTK2)
EU High Representative Federica Mogherini spoke with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on the situation in the Western Balkan.
"Mogherini and Pompeo have confirmed their commitment to a strong strategic-transatlantic partnership. They discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation and a number of important international and regional developments, including the Western Balkans, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Libya, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine," the EU Office said in a statement.
High-level talks between the United States and the EU on the situation in the Western Balkans come at a time when talks between Kosovo and Serbia, mediated by the EU, have been interrupted since November last year, reported RTK2, quoting Radio Free Europe.
Mogherini also met with Senior Adviser of the US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, with whom she discussed the situation in the Middle East.
This is Federica Mogherini's last visit to the United States, as EU High Representative, since the European bloc, after the May elections, is seeking a new name to replace Mogherini.
