Posing with ‘double-headed eagle' sign in front of monument of murdered harvesters (RTS, TV Most)
A group of underage persons lead by an adult entered the fenced area where a memorial plaque with the names of murdered Serb harvesters in Staro Gracko village was placed, RTS reports. They took photos showing the sign symbolizing the double-headed eagle of Albanian flag, RTS added.
Surveillance cameras on the school “Braca Aksic” recorded the gathering and photographing on the spot where memorial plaque is placed. Names of 14 murdered harvesters and 5 Serbs killed during NATO bombing were written on the plaque. The police has started the investigation, while the event has caused uneasiness among the remaining Serbs in Staro Gracko village.
A week ago, a memorial service was held for the harvesters murdered in July 1999. No one was held responsible for that crime yet.
This is not the first time that the plaque with the names of murdered persons is being ridiculed. Three years ago, unknown persons desecrated and demolished the memorial plaque in Staro Gracko village.
