Stefanovic: We continue with strong activities to prevent Kosovo join Interpol (RTS)
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic said his ministry continues with strong activities that should prevent Kosovo becoming member of Interpol, RTS reports.
He told Tanjug news agency that in cooperation with other state bodies, the ministry since last year’s Interpol General Assembly session in Dubai runs campaign and talks with representatives of the states that voted for Kosovo admission to Interpol, and with those that abstained or voted against it.
“During our conversations we point out to the facts and circumstances that could might lead to hampering the police integrity of Interpol if so-called Kosovo would become part of this police organization. We are emphasizing both political and legal, as well as police reasons that would be violated should such precedent be made,” Stefanovic underlined.
