China did not change its stance and will not support the admission of Kosovo to Interpol, Serbian media reported today. This was stated during the meeting of the Serbian Internal Affairs Minster Nebojsa Stefanovic and Head of the Chinese Delegation at the Interpol General Assembly session Duan Daqi.

During the meeting the head of the Chinese delegation reiterated China’s support to Serbia’s territorial integrity and unchanged stance on Kosovo request to join Interpol.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Affairs Minister Igor Crnadak said his country has a principled stance and will not support membership of Kosovo in Interpol, Serbian media reported.

Serbian diplomats around the world have received an explicit directive from the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry, B92 reports. The diplomatic missions were given a directive to make every effort to thwart Kosovo bid to become a member of an international police organization.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic also said that Pristina has no chance of joining Interpol.
"Kosovo has no chance of joining Interpol, it will face a disaster," he told Politika daily ahead of the forthcoming Interpol General Assembly session in Chile.

Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday that the Kosovo authorities want to use membership in Interpol to reinforce statehood not to improve their crime fighting capabilities.

The minister told Belgrade based TV Pink that a decision to induct Kosovo into Interpol would be political and would jeopardize that international organization’s professionalism.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says in New York that the number of countries withdrawing or suspending Kosovo's recognition will increase by year's end.

In other words, Dacic explains, the number of those who recognize Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence falls to less than half of UN members.

Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs State Secretary Biljana Popovic-Ivkovic met with the representatives of the Embassy of Libya yesterday and presented Serbia’s arguments against consideration of the latest Pristina request to join Interpol, Radio kontakt plus reports.

Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told Belgrade based TV Pink that the Serbian authorities are talking to every possible country about Pristina's request to join Interpol.

Stefanovic says that the aim of those contacts was to prevent the “politicization” of the international police organization whose members voted not to grant membership to Kosovo in 2018.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic said his ministry continues with strong activities that should prevent Kosovo becoming member of Interpol, RTS reports.

He told Tanjug news agency that in cooperation with other state bodies, the ministry since last year’s Interpol General Assembly session in Dubai runs campaign and talks with representatives of the states that voted for Kosovo admission to Interpol, and with those that abstained or voted against it.

Serbian media reported yesterday that the Skopje Supreme Court denied it had already ruled on Serbia's request for the extradition of former KLA member Tomor Morina, specifying that a decision could be expected soon.

Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs State Secretary Biljana Popovic-Ivkovic met yesterday with Cyprus Ambassador to Serbia Constantinos Eliades and discussed police cooperation between the two countries as well as Kosovo request to join Interpol, Danas daily reports.

Popovic-Ivkovic thanked Ambassador Eliades for the support Cyprus offered to Serbia at Interpol General Assembly session last year, adding the friendship between Cyprus and Serbia is based on mutual understanding and support in protecting important national interests.
