Serbian media reported yesterday that the Skopje Supreme Court denied it had already ruled on Serbia's request for the extradition of former KLA member Tomor Morina, specifying that a decision could be expected soon.

In a response from the Cabinet of the President of the Supreme Court, when asked by Belgrade based news agency Tanjug whether the news are true, reported yesterday by the Albanian-language North Macedonia TV portal "Alsat M", that the court had made a decision not to extradite Morina, it stated that "the case was sent for the opinion to the Public Prosecutor's Office and, after being returned, today was registered and assigned to a judge in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Northern Macedonia."

The ruling, they said in the Supreme Court, could be made early tomorrow (today).

Former KLA member Tomor Morina was arrested at the Blace border crossing on an Interpol arrest warrant. Morina was charged with war crimes against humanity in Kosovo between 1998 and 1999. Previously, the Criminal Panel of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje ruled that the conditions for extradition of Morina had not been fulfilled.
