Danas writes that according to diplomats, US officials - Assistant Secretary of State Philipe Reeker and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer conveyed to Vucic that the next phase of negotiations, which should begin after the election of a new convocation of the Kosovo government, "requires the joint involvement of the US, and other players, including Germany and France, and it is possible, even Russia.''

"Reeker and Palmer, as well as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whom Vucic met in New York, do not abandon the view that it is necessary for Serbia to recognize Kosovo. In turn, to the official Belgrade, the West promises economic assistance and faster entry into the European Union, but on the condition that Serbia distance itself from Russia. "There is no doubt that Pristina will abolish taxes after the elections, but such a move will not have much effect on the sale of Serbian goods in Kosovo, as this empty space has been filled by producers from other countries.
