Political analyst: OSCE encouraging chaos by observing the elections only in the north Kosovo (Kosovo online, Sputnik)
The role of OSCE in Kosovo is to provide technical advice and assistance, this mission reminded the public and said that they would not have observers in the forthcoming elections, stressing that this was a request from CEC.
According to political analyst Dejan Vuk Stankovic without the OSCE, the elections in Kosovo will be anything but regular, which encourages chaos in Kosovo, reports portal Kosovo online quoting Sputnik.
Asked if Kosovo has reached a level of democracy, which even the most developed states would be proud of, so that OSCE does not have to monitor elections, Dejan Vuk Stankovic, a political analyst, said that this is an irresponsible move by the OSCE mission, because Kosovo is far away from a society in which the democratic rules of the game apply.
“Kosovo and the campaign that is being led there, as well as their political elite, which is largely made up of members of the former terrorist KLA, do not represent a model democracy. That is why it seems to me that this is an indirect support for irregularity, which will now most certainly be bigger than if the elections were to be held under some degree of OSCE supervision,” Stankovic said.
The fact that the OSCE has announced that it will deploy around 200 of its members in all four municipalities in northern Kosovo, who will be present at all polling places, Stankovic explains that someone wants to say that there is “centuries-old democracy” in the rest of Kosovo, and that something controversial exists only in the north.
