Is EULEX an obstruction now? (Vecernje Novosti)

There is a huge storm in Kosovo at the moment, following allegations on corruption against the international representatives. Rakocevic: Whatever they are, judges of EULEX are better toward Serbs than Kosovo Albanian ones.

Pristina-based media are writing on suspicions that several EULEX officials are involved in corruption. The public however wonders – why is such affair launched right now in EULEX?

The question is about why has British prosecutor Maria Bamieh asked assistance from the ‘public’ instead of its mission, which is in charge exactly for the rule of law in Kosovo?

“That is total absurd and means that things have been set completely upside-down, while on the other side it can be a very dangerous thing. That is, that entire affair can help in closing down EULEX. That is not beneficial for Serbs, because whatever UNMIK used to be, or whatever KFOR and EULEX are now, they are better than local institutions. That is, EULEX judges are, in any case, better for Serbs than Albanian judges,” said writer from Gračanica/Graçanice Zivojin Rakocevic and reminded that ahead of UNMIK’s downsizing the mission was also accompanied with affairs.
