North Mitrovica: Budget still not harmonized with the MoF (RTK2)
The draft budget of the Mitrovica North still is not in compliance with the framework set by the Ministry of Finance, because as they say, they still did not receive instructions from the competent ministry. So instead of the budget, at today’s meeting unanimously was condemned violence against all communities that are associated with the football game Serbia-Albania.
"Although this question was not included in the agenda, I can say that when it comes to adopting the budget, not only for Mitrovica, but for all the municipalities in the north, there is a political question, so now currently I cannot state anything about the progress of the negotiations, led at a higher level. And that is why we do not have those tables and nothing has been achieved officially. We had some suggestions, some suggestions were coming from the Ministry of Finance from Pristina, but we did not agree," said Mayor Goran Rakic.
Councillor Emin Azemi (PDK) recalls that councillors did not vote for the budget, and that their proposals were not taken into account.
"I remind you that we have not been informed about the process that occurred after the adoption of the budget," said Azemi.
Although the Ministry of Finance claimed that four Serbian municipalities in northern Kosovo received a report of the ministry to reconcile budget proposals, President of the MA North Mitrovica said that there was no official response.
We recall that the proposed budget of the municipality of North Mitrovica was adopted at the end of September; amounting to almost 20 million euros, while the proposal of the ministry was that the budget does not exceed 4.5 million euros.
"At today's session of the Assembly there was no item of the agenda on budget issues. The reason for this is the competence and responsibility of certain ministries. I, as Chair of the Assembly and council members did not receive any material on the budget, to this day, what should be ratified in the budget or amended," says Ksenija Bozovic.
Councillors asked compensation for past work.
At today's meeting was also discussed the incidents that took place after the game Serbia-Albania. Councillor (PDK) Emin Azemi said that it is unfortunate that this Assembly has not condemned the incidents.
"After the game Serbia-Albania, near the bridge, was calling for the killing of Albanians. Nobody condemned it," said Azemi.
Several members from the Serbian community proposed to condemn attacks on Serbs throughout Kosovo, not only in the municipality of North Mitrovica.
Although they agreed that this should have been done earlier, the councillors eventually unanimously condemned the incidents and attacks against all communities that are associated with the football game Serbia-Albania.
