Djuric: Cooperation with Serbs the way forward for settling problems (RTS)
The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric voiced expectation that representatives of political parties of Kosovo Albanians will provide support and protection to Serbs in Metohija. He announced construction of the new school in Klina/Klinë Municipality.
During his visit to a returnee village Vidanje in Klina/Klinë municipality Djuric said that Kosovo Serbs live in a very difficult conditions.
“We are sending a message to Kosovo Albanians in Pristina, those who are deciding today and to those who will be deciding tomorrow, if they want to have participation and support of Serbian community, they have to earn it by supporting Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija in their efforts and struggle to stay, survive and live a normal life,” said Djuric and stressed that normalization of relations could be expected if all show that they are human toward the most vulnerable ones.
“Institutions in Pristina, for the sake of future, normalization of relations, problems which are huge, but which could be settled, should seek better cooperation with Serbs and municipalities with Serb-majority, and not only those but with all settlements where Serbs live, because that is the only way forward for settling problems and exit from the crisis from which we can’t escape for decades now,” Djuric said.
Djuric went on to say that children are most vulnerable category in Kosovo and Meothiaj and announced that proper school will be constructed in Vidanje where 12 children currently attend the elementary school in a private house in inadequate conditions for teaching.
