Representatives of public TV stations in the region and the EU countries, at a conference held in Pristina, have called for a greater presence of minorities in mainstream media channels, so that a majority population would get familiarized with their life and culture.

This was adopted as a recommendation, after successful examples of such programs on public TV stations, in countries such as in Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands and Belgium, which increasingly give a space in the program for ethnic and other minorities.

Public TV stations’ representatives have called for cooperation in the exchange of minority programs, their strengthening, modernizing, coproduction projects, education, and a better understanding of the themes from the life of minorities.

Public TV stations’ representatives have agreed that it is necessary to cooperate and exchange minority programs in the region and beyond, which should result in concrete projects. It was concluded that minority television and radio programs should cross-link, and that young talents should be encouraged.
