Milan Vujaković: Not true that "Elektrodistribucija Sever" is an illegal company (KoSSev)
It is not true that "Elektrodistribucija Sever" is an illegal company. Kosovo law on energy, which is valid in Kosovo and Metohija, doesn’t prevent existence of another operator to deal with distribution of electricity. Law on local self-governing also stipulates that municipality could be an owner, or co-owner of a company, which is in the interest of citizens, says Milan Vujakovic, the Director of the newly formed company ‘EPS trgovina Severna Mitrovica’ .
However, it is only about a provisional solution until the Association/Community of Serb municipalities is formed, which is supposed to be in charge for the supply of electricity, that is, company ‘Elektrodistribucija Sever’. He said that that Kosovo Agency for Registration of Business, which operates under the Ministry of Economy, and to which request for registration of ‘Elektrodsitribucije Sever’ and ‘EPS trgovina Severna Mitrovica’ was forwarded on 20 November , was due to respond to applicants in ten days, still didn’t respond, thus it is considered that companies are registered, despite the fact that licenses were not issued to companies yet by the Kosovo Regulatory Department.
Following the latest round of talks in Brussels in December between Pristina and Belgrade teams, Kosovo government informed that only KEDS is in charge for distribution of electricity in Kosovo, including northern Kosovo, and that ‘Elektrodistribucija Sever’, which was established by Zubin Potok Municipality, is considered to be an illegal company.
