Administrative retirement of judges who want to go to Kosovo (Kossev)

Serbia is preparing a law for administrative retirement of judges from Serbia who are interested to work in the Kosovo judiciary, which will allow them to be elected in the local institutions, said today the President of the High Judicial Council, Dragomir Milojevic.

"I know that is being prepared a law on administrative retirement of judges, so whoever wants will be retired," said Milojevic.

Milojevic stressed at the press conference that the deployment of Serbian judges in Kosovo courts would be done on a voluntary basis and those who do not want to integrate into Kosovo system, would remain judges in Serbia.

The judges who will go to Kosovo, will judge by the local laws and will receive a salary most likely from EULEX, he noted.

Milojevic said that under the agreement, about 70 judges from Serbia should go to the courts of regular jurisdiction in Kosovo and another ten to the minor offense courts.

According to his knowledge, since 1999, there are 36 judges in Kosovo who does not work.
