Citizens of Kosovo blame Pristina for migrations (TV Most)
Despite numerous warnings from Brussels that they will not receive asylum, a number of citizens from Kosovo is still prepared to leave Kosovo, is conclusion of the research of the Group for Legal and Political Studies under the name “Profile of Kosovo migrant: Who emigrate in the EU?”
According to the research, usually young people emigrate and the reasons are socio-economic in nature. These are mostly people with low income and secondary education. For that situation they usually blame Kosovo government.
The readiness of citizens to migrate is influenced by several factors, one of which is the region from which they come: "The citizens of Pec, Djakovica, Prizren, Urosevac and Gnjilane are less willing to migrate than those from Pristina. People from Mitrovica and rural areas around the towns are mostly willing to migrate, men more than women, and people aged 18 to 34 years more than the older ones," said Delfina Elshani from the Group for Legal and Political Studies.
"About 88 per cent of citizens believe that the Kosovo government is responsible for their eventual emigration. On the other hand, job and average salary, visa liberalization and seasonal employment in the EU would force them to change their minds about whether to take that road," said worker on the research, Arbresha Lodja.
