Bajrami: Kosovo is ready to integrate the University in Mitrovica North (Kossev)
At the fourth ministerial meeting of the countries of the Western Balkans, Kosovo Minister of Education, Science and Technology Arsim Bajrami expressed "readiness" of Kosovo to integrate the University of North Mitrovica in the "system of higher education in Kosovo". This two-day meeting was held in Vlora, Albania, and in the context of the Platform for education and training in the Western Balkans, organized by the European Commission. Although the Ministry of Education of Serbia did not officially announce that it will participate the meeting, Kosovo Ministry of Education has announced that Bajrami had an informal meeting with the Minister of Education of Serbia, Srdjan Verbic. With Minister Verbic Bajrami discussed education of Albanians in "Presevo Valley" and "bilateral recognition of diplomas between the two countries."
"Bajrami also expressed the will and readiness of the Government to implement the Brussels agreement on bilateral recognition of diplomas between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as the readiness of the Republic of Kosovo to integrate the University of Northern Mitrovica in Kosovo higher education system," was said in yesterday's statement of this Ministry.
According to the official web site of the European Union, the Platform was launched in 2012 and it is "an EU initiative for cooperation in education with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.
