Hodzic: ZSO agreed thing and cannot be an NGO (Kontakt Plus radio)
Head of Administration in the municipality of North Mitrovica, Adriana Hodzic said yesterday that the formation of Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) was an "agreed thing" and a compromise solution must be found for the implementation.
Hodzic has stated that, according to her knowledge, the topic of the ZSO was very seriously considered in Brussels and believes that the agreement will have the same effect as an agreement on insurance of vehicles that have been reached Belgrade and Pristina.
She said in a statement delivered to Radio Kontakt that she sees the ZSO as an important body that will have a very important role in building confidence between citizens and the institutions because, she said, citizens expect that the ZSO guarantee their survival in Kosovo and protective mechanism of their national interests .
She further noted that there was still no concrete agreement on jurisdiction which the ZSO will have but it's sure that the ZSO cannot be an NGO because as such it does not meet the expectations of citizens.
Hodzic recalled that one of the main reasons why the citizens participated in the elections in Kosovo precisely the formation of Serbian municipalities.
"Specific competencies of the community will definitely be agreed in Brussels, the idea that the ZSO has executive power, to me has never and will not present a problem. I believe that the ZSO should have jurisdiction comply with the expectations of the citizens, because only as such can be useful," she said.
The head of the municipal administration in Mitrovica said that it was also important that the jurisdictions of the ZSO are consistent with the powers of mayor of Serbian municipalities.
Hodzic said that the Brussels agreement has now gained a new dimension because the main actors involved in talks between Belgrade and Pristina were, primarily premieres Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa.
A concrete example of a positive agreement is one that relates to insurance and vehicle registration, the implementation of which will definitely bring something concrete for the citizens, will facilitate the freedom of movement, taking into account the family budget, given that the current practice of traveling with Kosovo license plates has been very expensive, said Hodzic at the end of the announcement.
