Incident in Gorazdevac alarming (RTK2)
Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic condemned the incident in Gorazdevac emphasizing that this was a bad message not only for the Serbian, but for all communities living in Kosovo.
"At a time when Kosovo as a multi-ethnic society tends to European integration, such and similar incidents are very bad message not only for the Serbian community, which was the target of the attackers, but for all communities living in Kosovo. Last night's incident is worrying and warns that there are those who do not want peace and reconciliation in Kosovo. Enough years have passed since the conflict, and we still have a group of people who are bothered with other people's characteristics and monuments erected in memory of the victims. Ignition and desecration of monuments is a direct and violent attack on the memories of families of tragically victimized.
I seek from the law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and that the perpetrators are brought to justice and receive adequate punishment. Only this way, we can hope and believe that these and similar incidents will not happen in the future," said Minister Jevtic.
