Ɖurić with El-Ghassim Wane about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija (TV Most)
Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Ɖurić met today with Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations El-Ghassim Wane and introduced him with the process of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. "It is necessary to restore confidence in the dialogue, and it can be reached only through implementation of the agreement on the establishment of Association / Community of Serb Municipalities (A/CSM)," said Ɖurić.
Emphasizing the irreplaceable role of the UN in guaranteeing the status neutrality of the international presence in Kosovo and Metohija and the implementation of the Resolution 1244, Ɖurić expressed satisfaction with the continuing good cooperation of Serbia with the UN office in Belgrade and the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), reads the statement of the Office. According to him, the quarterly reports of the UN Secretary-General are crucial for the creation of an objective picture about the situation in Kosovo, on the international political scene.
Ɖurić explained to the UN representative the situation and problems of the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija and stressed the importance of KFOR presence for the security in the province. The meeting was attended by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and head of UNMIK Zahir Tanin and representative of the UN Secretary General and the Director of the UN Office in Belgrade Simona-Mirela Miculescu.
