Simić: Important that EULEX keeps current competences (Tanjug, RTK2)
Leader of the Serbian List, Slavko Simić, yesterday said that EULEX’s presence in Kosovo is still needed and that it is important for EULEX to keep current competencies for the next two years, during its extended mandate.
Simić said to Tanjug that Serbian List will most probably support extension of the EULEX mandate by the Kosovo parliament, and that it is important that EULEX does not downsize its presence in next two years in Kosovo. He stressed that presence of the EU mission is still needed in Kosovo in the rule of law and security areas, and that it is also important that EULEX does not transfer its competencies to Kosovo institutions.
He voiced expectation that EULEX will strengthen its operational capacities in the next two-year mandate and accomplish pending investigations and processes, and show that they have credibility.
