EU Special Representative in Kosovo Semuel Zbogar stated for RTK2 that the existence of public TV in Serbian language is essential for the Serbs in Kosovo. He said that RTK2 broadcast information from all Serbian areas, and called on for the expansion of the signal in the north.

"Last year RTK2 started to work and achieved progress is visible," said Zbogar, speaking on the occasion of the first anniversary of RTK2. He recalled that the preparations for the establishment of public service in the Serbian language lasted several years, since the adoption of the law to the establishment of the first journalistic team."

"It is essential to have a program that is in Serbian language, for the Serbs in Kosovo. Kosovo is a multiethnic country with two nations that are legally equal, and people should have their own television. Of course, there may be private television in both languages, but there must be a public television in Serbian language," he said.
