Marić: Interests of Serbia and US matching in regard to CSM (RTS,Tanjug)

The final message after the visit of the US vice-president Joseph Biden to Belgrade and Pristina is that interest of Serbia and US are now matching when it comes to the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities (A/CSM), said Minister for Local Government Administration in the Kosovo government, Ljubomir Marić.

“We can conclude that Serbian government, led by Aleksandar Vučić, pursuing responsible policy, became the key factor in the region and this obviously yields results,” said Marić to RTS. According to him, A/CSM as a concept entered into the Brussels Agreement on Serbia’s proposal, and following this messages and permanent requests of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, we can now expect this process to move forward finally. “In following days we will probably see some concrete results, we expect to be invited, with regard to this issue by our coalition partners and representatives of Pristina institutions, to talk about it and about ways to carry out this job together,” said Marić.

He went on to say that Biden had an opportunity to hear from representatives of Serbs what bothers them in Kosovo and hear request about creation of the A/CSM, which is needed as soon as possible. “We will remain dedicated to this process, we are ready to invest all our time and energy, in order that the most important part of the agreement is implemented, and I would like to remind that 60 per cent of the Brussels Agreement refers exactly to the A/CSM,” said Marić.
