Tanasković: Turkey lobbies the most for Kosovo in UNESCO (KIM radio)
Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO Darko Tanasković says that Turkey is among the most agile countries that are lobbying for membership of Kosovo in UNESCO, adding that it is a part of their Neo-Ottomanism strategy.
Tanasković says that this did not accidentally, because Serbia last few years is the most stable country in the region, i.e. in the former Yugoslavia. For many this is not a normal situation and due to personal political agenda or problems, or the opposition in their own countries, they are trying to create instability in the region.
Tanasković does not believe but says that it is theoretically possible for the Kosovo's membership to be presented at the session of the Executive Council of UNESCO in April.
If it comes to that membership, Serbian Orthodox Church and its places of worship, monasteries, cemeteries would be found in trouble because they would be exposed to a quiet and invisible pressure. That is worse than demolishment of church, which the world sees and criticizes and condemns, said Tanasković.
