Rašić: Resolution on the release of Haradinaj - political pressure (NMagazin)
MP of the Serbian List in the Kosovo Parliament Nenad Rašić said that the resolution for the unconditional release of Ramush Haradinaj adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo contains and a request to stop the dialogue with Belgrade, and thus represents a kind of political pressure on the EU.
According to Rašić, this resolution is not binding. He said that the resolution has no requests of the opposition concerning the abolition of Serbian warrants for possible suspects. Rašić said that MPs have overlooked that the case of Haradinaj in fact was a legal issue and that was why the EU reacted because political and legal issues cannot be mixed. He said that MPs tried with the resolution to act politically on the legal system that in the EU is independent in decision-making.
Asked how he assesses the announcement of the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić about the scheduled session of the National Security Council, Rašić said that it was a normal sequel of events related to informing Serbia on whether events such as initiating the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the army and the interruption of dialogue can lead to a threat for the region security.
Rašić also said that Thaçi, by giving this idea to the government for approval, wanted to be political winner and to transfer the entire burden on the government, but that he overlooked safety issue and probably was surprised by the rapid reaction of NATO and the United States and their warning on unconstitutionality of the procedure.
Rašić has once again reiterated that the Kosovo officials invited representatives of the Serbian list to return only through the media i.e. there were no official meetings. He said that they had intensive talks the last two weeks with representatives of the EU mission in Kosovo, during which they discussed the conditions of return.
The basic condition for the return, remains resolving the issue of the Community/Association of Serb Municipalities, said Rašić.
