Simić: We want Serbia to manage education in Serbian language in Kosovo (KIM radio)
Serbian deputies do not agree that Kosovo regulates the work of the Serbian education system in Kosovo, said Slavko Simić to RTV KiM.
Simić says that recent allegations of the Serbian National Forum (SNF) are not true. The SNF accused the President of the Serbian List of trying to merge University of Pristina (relocated in North Mitrovica) with the future Community/Association of Serb municipalities, and then to change its name.
He explains that the Kosovo parties tried to include the draft law on higher education in the agenda of the Assembly, which would include and the Serbian University in North Mitrovica. He says the Serbs were opposed and have requested the coalition partners and the Kosovo Ministry of Education to withdraw the proposal. And that has been done, said Simić.
Simić said that representatives of SNF, in the future, should inform themselves properly about what is happening in the meetings of the Assembly of Kosovo, before publicly condemn or, as he says, incorrectly inform the public through press.
Simić added that certainly the draft education law could not be adopted in the Assembly of Kosovo without votes of the Serbian MPs.
