Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric said that a blockade, of a positive social processes, goes in favour of those whose interest is to keep Kosovo as a long-term hostage in a frozen conflict, Sputnik reported today.

Marko Djuric made this remark in an interview given to Jedinstvo weekly, asked if he believes the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue would be continued. He also said that diplomats in Pristina over the last couple of days were sceptical about the possibility to continue a productive dialogue due to deep political divisions among Albanians in Kosovo.

“Such description of a situation is also a recognition of incompetence of the international community to create an environment in which a populist opposition would not be able to block positive social processes,” Djuric said.

He also said it is difficult for him to imagine a situation in which government in Pristina would reject an explicit request from the Quint countries.

Djuric also spoke about war crimes, saying that relations toward crimes and the need to hold criminals responsible for committed misdeeds define values one society is based on, Serbian media reported.
