Dačić: They want to remove Kosovo from the UN agenda (Danas)
First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić said that there is no consensus of large countries, primarily Russia and China, to remove the topic of Kosovo from the UN agenda and to abolish the UN mission in Kosovo or to repeal the Resolution 1244.
"It is very important for Serbia to keep the topic of Kosovo and Metohija in the focus of the United Nations, that is, the Security Council," Dačić said after a meeting with UN Secretary General António Guterres, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia says in a statement, reports daily Danas.
He stressed that at the yesterday's session of the Security Council several major powers, and not just Pristina, asked the Kosovo issue to be removed from the agenda, to have less sessions, i.e. to have session every six months instead three. He also said that for the first time some great powers made a request to abolish the UNMIK mission.
Dačić said that he talked with Guterres about Kosovo and the continuation of the participation of Serbian soldiers and police officers in United Nations peacekeeping missions around the world. Dačić also requested that the Hague convicts serve sentences in Serbia.
Secretary General Guterres announced that he will talk with President Vučić on regional stability next week by phone, daily Danas reports.
