Jevtic with German Ambassador on return (KIM Radio)
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic met yesterday with the German Ambassador in Kosovo, Christian Heldt and informed him about the issues Serb returnees are facing, including unemployment, arrests and usurped properties, KIM Radio reported.
“I think that by opening of new factories, new employment opportunities, we would resolve the issue of return in a practical manner, because members of non-majority communities in Kosovo, would be employed, including returnees (…). This would help remain and survival,” Jevtic said.
During the talks, Jevtic underlined the issue of usurped properties in Kosovo.
“Unresolved usurped property issues mean high percentage of people, who cannot come back to Kosovo, because there is no possibility to build residential buildings for such families and provide housing for them. I proposed the establishment of a separate panel within the Kosovo judiciary to deal with usurped property issues, because I believe this is the only way to effectively resolve this problem”.
Jevtic also mentioned the case of arrested Bodgan Mitrovic, expressing concern about the fact Mitrovic still remains in detention and negative effects it has on potential returnees as they are afraid or do not want to come back to their properties under such circumstances, KIM Radio reported.
