Dacic: May to those that recognized Kosovo happen same (Tanjug, B92)

Chief of the Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic said that Kosovo and Catalonia are linked with the fact it is about unilateral secession without a dialogue with the state they are seceding from, Serbian media reported. Dacic, who was a guest speaker on the RTS programme “Oko” said that Catalonia does not follow the example of Yugoslavia but that one of Kosovo. “They follow the Kosovo case as they have unilateral acts, but some republic of the former-Yugoslavia followed the same policy. It is a short way from the support to the unity of the country to hasty recognitions of a newly created reality, such were Slovenia, Croatia, not to mention Kosovo,” Dacic said. “You no longer depend upon the international law, but upon the splice of the international circumstances. Serbia does not recognize any unilateral acts and we are supporting the unity of Spain,” Dacic further added. According to him, many are now thinking whether the acts related to Kosovo were correct. “It seems to me, that they have realized problem may come to their detriment. I would not rejoice over that now, but again, I would like if countries that have recognized Kosovo face the same, and then we decide whether it is about international law”. Dacic also added “Kosovo became an unwanted child,” for quite some time. “Basically, they no longer know how to justify it. While Brits are telling us we are genocide people, I should pay attention when talking about them in order not to offend them. May Vucic replace me, but I will speak the way how our people look at it,” Dacic said.
