"The Law on Religious Freedom significant for the Serbian community" (RTK2)
RTK2 reports that the Parliamentary Committee on Rights and Interests of Communities and Returns was supposed to consider the Law on Religious Freedom, but that this was not done today due to the absence of a majority of the members of this assembly body.
The Law on Religious Freedom is very important, especially for the Serbian community, says the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Rights and Interests of Communities and Return Igor Simic. The members of this board were supposed to consider the law, but that did not happen due to the lack of a quorum.
"The problem is that the functional commission, which is also a human rights commission, responded to the Serbian List amendments in a negative way. All the official requests, but also the most ordinary ones concerning translation, are not accepted by the functional commission. Even if there was a session today, the Serbian List would vote against, because it is not in accordance with our interests," says Simic.
Only the members of the Serbian List, Jasmina Zivkovic and Zoran Mojsilovic attended the meeting, and to hold the session is required presence of at least eight members, reports RTK2.
