Dacic: EU suffers from muteness and deafness when it comes to Serbia (Vecernje Novosti)

Kosovo is a priority in all Serbian diplomatic activities, Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told Novosti daily, adding that the visit of Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel is important since this country would now have more understanding for Serbia.

Dacic emphasized it is important “to reach to everyone,” but he does not expect the EU would act differently now. “The EU suffers from a serious disease, and it is muteness and deafness when it comes to Serbia. Maybe this disease can be cured, but one should work on it,” Dacic said. Commenting on a statement of Hashim Thaci’s advisor, Blerim Shala who said that the Association/Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities can be established only after the signing of legally binding agreement, Dacic said he would withdraw signature from the Brussels agreement because of this. He reminded Shala was present when the Brussels agreement was signed and he knows very well it was not a condition to establish the Association/Community. Dacic also added Serbia made numerous compromises, Serbs integrated into Pristina’s institutions, took part in elections and government, however Pristina did not fulfil its obligation to establish the Association/Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities. Meanwhile, Serbian European Integration Minister, Jadranka Joksimovic said that the Brussels agreement between Belgrade and Pristina must be implemented within the shortest deadline, in particular when it comes to ZSO. “The Brussels agreement, which is a legally binding agreement, guaranteed and signed by the EU, is something that has to be implemented within the shortest deadline, in particular when it comes to ZSO,” Joksimovic said.
