Janjic: Goals of “platform” – seat in UN and mutual recognitions with Serbia (KIM Radio)
Forum for Ethnic Relations Director, Dusan Janjic thinks that after adoption of the platform “for final phase of dialogue with Serbia,” in the Kosovo Government, Serbia should also establish its own platform to respond to “the two strongest political and historical provocations,” KIM Radio reported.
Janjic further elaborated Pristina platform has three goals, seat in the UN, recognition of Kosovo by Serbia and defining relations with the EU and NATO. According to him, first goal cannot be achieved in negotiations with Serbia. “I think that first goal cannot be achieved through negotiations with Serbia, these negotiations could result in an environment that would ease the situation in which great powers supporting Kosovo independence are,” Janjic said. When it comes to mutual recognitions, Janjic thinks that Kosovo institutions function in the entire territory of Kosovo, which is the essence of independence. “However, formal recognition is not an obligation and will not be an obligation as there is one issue here: How come a state that is struggling for its independence can recognize another one which is already internationally recognized?” Janjic said, KIM Radio reported.
