Srpska Lista: Jovanovic tries to continue his career in KiM, LDP reaction of Srpska Lista hypocritical (Tanjug, RTS)
Srpska Lista issued a press statement over the visit of LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic to Pristina last week, Serbian media reported.
“Cedomir Jovanovic worn out politician and obedient person of foreign mentors in an attempt to please his sponsors and earn a few more USD from Albanian lobby, visited Pristina and recited loudly wishes of Albanians, attacking his own state and Srpska Lista,” the press statement reads.
Srpska Lista added that this “opportunist, who won less votes in Serbia than the number of invalid ballots,” is attacking Srpska Lista “which indicates it is on the right path to protection of Serbian national and state interests under very difficult circumstances present in a political and social scene in Kosovo and Metohija.”
Srpska Lista pointed out that Jovanovic did not ask his hosts where are 40.000 Serbs from Pristina and 230.000 from entire Kosovo, or why Serb returnees are being robbed and attacked on a daily basis, “because that was not the text his mentors gave him, and it is of no surprise why he agrees with Albanians in everything, contrary to the interests of Serbian people.”
“It is obvious he tries to continue his career in Kosovo and Metoihja, where, we believe he would win sympathy and a significant number of votes from Albanians,” the press statement concluded.
Meanwhile, LDP party reacted to the Srpska Lista statement saying their “reaction is hypocritical, while their actions are attempts to prolong the conflict in Kosovo,” RTS reported.
“The region, contrary to such actions, needs trust among people, while politicians who build their careers and power on causing conflicts and spreading hatred toward others belong to the past, which was marked with misery, isolation, victims and wars,” LDP statement reads.
“LDP tells the truth to the society, which although painful represents the only mean in a struggle not to have our future worse than tragic past. Serbia capitulated in 1999, withdrew from Kosovo and this is a reality within we have to build a new relations with Kosovo Albanians and the world,” LDP said.
LDP added that right now Serbia has a chance it never had before, to win a permanent peace for generations to come after us, and to build new kind of relations with neighbours in the region, to turn hostility into partnership, which is the only way to secure peace, progress and a chance for happiness for our societies,” LDP press statement concluded.
