Youth Forum creates action plan for youth in north of Kosovo (Radio kontakt plus)
NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC) gathered yesterday representatives of the Local Youth Action Councils, NGOs dealing with youth issues, representatives of institutions and young people, in order to make first steps for creating a Local Action Plan for Youth in the four northern municipalities, Radio kontakt plus reported.
This activity is a continuation of the project “Establishing Local Youth Councils in Northern Municipalities,” which is supported by USAID-AKTLS and aims at mapping issues young people face.
ACDC Director Dusan Radakovic said the youth councils are an umbrella organization for mapping and solving youth problems. “We have engaged a trainer from central Kosovo who would help young people to create a quality Local Strategic Action Plan for Youth,” Radakovic added. He pointed out this plan would assist municipalities to address youth issues and establish better cooperation between youth councils and municipalities.
USAID representative, Nenad Maksimovic, said he is pleased with the continuation of the project and that such a document would come out of it.
Project Manager, Milos Kabasic, welcomed the presence of youth organizations such as Domovik, Aktiv and Link and expressed regret over the organizations that did not respond, because everybody’s contribution is important, in particular from those dealing with youth issues.
After creation of the Action Plans, local councils would submit them to the municipal assemblies for adoption, Radio kontakt plus reported.
